Elektro Eggers joins the SCIO Automation Group

Elektro Eggers GmbH, a specialist in automation based in Grasberg (Niedersachsen, Germany), has joined SCIO Automation, an international industrial automation group. This acquisition expands SCIO Automation’s service portfolio within the Process Solutions business segment and strengthens its market position as a comprehensive solutions provider. Elektro Eggers specializes in programming services and electrical assembly.

Elektro Eggers is a mid-sized automation specialist that brings expertise in PLC programming, process control technology, hardware design, engineering services, as well as electrical assembly and installation to the SCIO Automation Group. Headquartered in Grasberg (GER), the company will be integrated into the SCIO Automation Group as a subsidiary of VESCON Process GmbH, and will continue to operate under the Elektro Eggers brand within the Process Solutions business segment. In addition to Elektro Egger’s extensive expertise, its acquisition grants SCIO Automation further access to attractive customer segments in industries such as water treatment, food and pet food production, and pharmaceuticals.

A strong partner in process automation

Alongside VESCON Process (based in Frankenthal, Germany) and Elektro Eggers, the Process Solutions business segment also includes VESCON AQUA GmbH (based in Flensburg, Germany). By combining the expertise of these three companies, SCIO Automation is now able to position itself as a strong partner in process automation and process engineering for a wide range of industries. The Process Solutions business segment specializes in process technology plants and offers decades of experience and unparalleled know-how to customers in the chemical, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and food industries. The service portfolio not only includes process automation and process engineering, it also extends to M&A planning, expediting, pipeline technology with stress analysis and recurring inspections, as well as GMP consulting, engineering, and FoodTec solutions.

Development and future prospects of the Process Solutions business segment

The Process Solutions business segment at the SCIO Automation Group has seen some exciting developments in recent years. Not least the acquisition of VESCON AQUA in 2020 and strategic decision taken to create teams of experts, including those for FoodTec and process automation in 2024, have diversified the portfolio and customer base. By integrating Elektro Eggers into this existing ecosystem, the portfolio has now been expanded to include essential services in PLC programming and control panel construction, thus enabling the business segment to position itself as a full-service provider in the near future.

The existing Elektro Eggers management team, consisting of Hartmut Thoden (Sales) and Michael Grove (Operations & Administration), will be joined by Maik Bösch, already Managing Director of VESCON AQUA, to enable ties to be strengthened even within the Process Solutions business segment.

With its acquisition of Elektro Eggers, the SCIO Automation Group continues its growth trajectory in 2025, further solidifying its position as a leading player within the industry automation sector.
