MFI GmbH becomes part of SCIO Automation

The SCIO Automation Group acquires MFI GmbH and takes over the fourth automation company within two months. MFI offers specialized automation solutions for the food industry as well as complementary solutions for other industrial end-markets. With this acquisition, SCIO complements its intralogistics expertise by expanding its technological competence into an attractive market fueled by sustainable industry trends.

Headquartered in Benningen am Neckar, MFI was founded in 1994 by Daniel Mihali with focus on electrical engineering and software development. Today, it offers its customers tailor-made intralogistics and robotics solutions with 24/7 support close to their facilities. "I look forward to further developing MFI as part of the SCIO Automation Group and to offer our extensive know-how to many customers from other industries. SCIO offers a wide range of opportunities for us to further strengthen our market position and take on larger projects," says Daniel Mihali, Managing Director of MFI, about the reasoning behind joining SCIO. A key factor in the food industry is MFI's stainless-steel expertise, enabling the company to comply with the customers’ stringent hygiene standards. Innovative and patented solutions from in-house developments are a key driver of MFI’s success story.

"MFI’s automation solutions add an additional layer to SCIO’s current offering, enabling us to immediately engage in joint projects for our combined customer base. MFI contributes with specialized know-how and innovative strength in programming and manufacturing. The overall package makes MFI a strong partner for our platform," outlines Michael Goepfarth, CEO of SCIO Automation.

The transaction is currently subject to approval by the antitrust authorities and is expected to be completed in December 2020.

Update: As of December 14th, 2020, MFI GmbH has become a part of the SCIO Automation Group.
