    AUTKOM becomes part of SCIO

As of July 30th, 2019, the AUTKOM Group became a part of the SCIO Automation GmbH. AUTKOM specialises in planning, construction and commissioning of complete automation solutions, including electrical engineering systems with a significant focus on software development for spot-on control and process control systems. Customers range from the automotive and chemical industry, over to environmental technology.

AUTKOM’s automation business further complements SCIO’s offering with tailor-made training courses and services within the area of safety technology, as well as 360° solutions in information technology. AUTKOM was founded in 1998 by the two Managing Directors Jürgen Philipp and Thomas Eichhorn in Ladenburg, located between Mannheim and Heidelberg, and today employs about 30 people.

"With AUTKOM we are pleased to welcome another firm joining our automation platform, further expanding our competencies in the field of automation technology and enriching our corporate portfolio," says Michael Goepfarth, SCIO’s CEO. "This will enable us to offer our customers an even broader range of products and services.” A good seven months after the merger of the Schiller and VESCON Groups, SCIO is focusing on the further expansion of the newly founded automation platform as an automation expert through the acquisition of AUTKOM.

Both of AUTKOM’s managing directors will remain operationally responsible and will continue to lead the company. AUTKOM will be able to profit from the many group-wide benefits and will be supported by SCIO in the forward-looking strategic development as part of the larger automation platform. "With SCIO as a strong and competent partner at our side, we are creating the foundation for a continuous future-oriented growth strategy on the course towards a timely succession plan. Thanks to the strong synergies with SCIO, we will be able to offer our customers a more comprehensive portfolio and strengthen our own position in the market," says Jürgen Philipp about the reasoning for joining SCIO.
